Is IPL right for my skin tone and hair color?
IPL targets the melanin in hair, so results depend on both your skin and your hair. The brand's chart shows it suits light to medium-dark skin tones and is not suitable for very dark skin. It works on naturally dark blonde, brown and black hair; the manufacturer says red, blonde, gray and white hair has less melanin, so IPL may be less effective or ineffective on it.
Can men use it?
Yes, from the shoulders down: chest, back, arms, stomach and legs. The manufacturer does not recommend it for beards or other male facial hair, as results may be uneven.
Can I use it on my face and bikini line?
Yes. The manufacturer says it can be used on the face below the cheekbones, such as the upper lip, chin and jawline, but not near the eyes or along the forehead. The face and intimate heads and the sensitive mode help on delicate areas.
Do I need safety glasses?
No. The manufacturer says protective eyewear isn't needed: the device has an integrated UV filter and a skin contact sensor, so it only flashes when properly positioned against your skin.
Does it hurt, and where shouldn't I use it?
