Is IPL right for my skin tone and hair color?
IPL targets melanin, so results depend on the color of both your skin and your hair. The brand's chart marks fair, light, medium, tan and tan-deep skin as safe and effective, and deep skin as unsafe. For hair, black, dark brown, brown and dark blonde are effective, while red, light blonde and gray or white are ineffective. In the brand's words, IPL suits dark hair on fair skin, is less effective on blonde, gray and red hair, and is not suitable for very dark skin.
How soon will I see results?
The manufacturer says visible hair reduction can start in about two weeks, and most users reach the result they want by the end of the recommended 12-week routine. Results vary with skin tone, hair color and body area.
How often should I use it?
For the first four weeks, use it on each area about three times a week, every other day, then switch to maintenance sessions once or twice a month. Using it on the same area every day adds nothing, so alternate areas instead.
Do I need to shave first?
Yes. Shave any hair longer than 2 mm (1/16 in) with the included razor, so the light reaches the root instead of the surface hair. The manufacturer recommends shaving only, since other hair removal methods can make sessions less effective.
Which areas can I use it on?
